Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive technology organization, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer. This role is responsible for optimizing fastener design and manufacturability, supporting component selection across engineering applications, and driving 3D/2D design from concept through release and production. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and internal validation groups to ensure components meet performance, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Job Duties
- Develop detailed 3D and 2D CAD models from high-level design inputs
- Recommend standard components and fasteners based on application requirements
- Partner with design and assembly engineers to support proper component selection and implementation
- Review designs for manufacturability, performance, and compliance with established specifications
- Validate component performance through testing, design reviews, and production feedback
- Collaborate with suppliers to refine component designs for quality, cost, and manufacturability
- Create and maintain parameterized CAD rulesets to support model automation and standardization
- Support component release activities through production launch and ongoing engineering updates
Skills & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
- Experience designing or supporting standard mechanical components such as fasteners, clips, or similar hardware
- Proficiency in CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or comparable CAD software
- Experience creating 3D models and 2D drawings for production release
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability and assembly principles
- Experience supporting component validation through testing, lab feedback, or manufacturing review
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, tolerances, and technical requirements
- Experience working with suppliers on component design improvements
Desired
- Experience in automotive, mobility, or high-volume manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with parameterized CAD modeling and design automation rulesets
- Understanding of industry standards for standard hardware and mechanical components
- Experience supporting components from early design through production launch
- Exposure to internal lab validation or real-world product performance testing
- Knowledge of release processes, change management, or engineering documentation systems
