Senior Architect - Southern Idaho
Overview
VCBO Architecture is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the design and delivery of projects across a range of sectors. This role supports a hybrid work model, including remote work and regular travel to project sites throughout southern Idaho, including Boise and Pocatello. The position collaborates closely with VCBO’s Utah-based team, supporting integrated project delivery across offices. It is ideal for an experienced professional who can lead project components with independence, mentor team members, and ensure high-quality design and technical execution.
You’ll take ownership of key project phases, coordinate across disciplines, and play a critical role in delivering successful outcomes from concept through construction. You’ll also collaborate with team members across multiple VCBO offices, supporting integrated project delivery and firmwide coordination.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead design, documentation, and coordination across multiple project phases
- Oversee preparation of drawings and models for schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
- Apply advanced knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction methods to project work
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment and quality
- Serve as a key contributor in client communication, presentations, and project decision-making
- Lead construction administration efforts, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and issue resolution
- Ensure quality, organization, and consistency across deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related field
- Typically 8–15 years of professional experience
- Licensed Architect required
- Advanced proficiency in Revit; familiarity with additional design tools (SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite) a plus
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination
- Proven ability to lead project components and mentor team members
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and in a hybrid environment including active construction sites
