This is a full-time 6 days a week on-site role located in Dubai, UAE.
Responsibilities
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Facade Engineer located in Dubai. The Facade Engineer should have experience in large and complex project leading the Design and Coordination/Executive process with key responsibilities to comply with.
- Design Coordination and Review
- Review and comment on design and material submittals, and method statements related to façade works.
- Coordinate with design teams to resolve any technical discrepancies and/or site issues.
- Ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction and installation stages.
2.Coordination and Communication
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and client representatives on façade-related matters.
- Participate in coordination and technical meetings to resolve interface and sequencing issues.
- Collaborate with structural, architectural, and MEP teams to manage façade interfaces effectively.
- Leading the Technical/Progress Meetings associated with Façade scope of work.
3. Supervision and Quality Control
- Supervise façade installation works on site to ensure compliance with approved design, materials, and construction methods.
- Conduct regular inspections of executed works throughout all stages, related to different façade systems like : glazed curtain wall systems, cladding systems and all associated elements related to envelope of the building.
- Verify that façade materials delivered and installed meet the approved samples, mock-ups, and specifications.
- Monitor workmanship to ensure it aligns with project quality standards and best practices with façade industry.
4.Site Monitoring and Reporting
- Prepare daily and weekly site reports detailing progress, issues, and inspection results.
- Track façade construction progress and identify potential delays or conflicts with other trades.
- Provide technical support to site teams and advise on corrective actions when non-conformities arise.
5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
- Ensure façade works are executed in accordance with safety standards and regulations and in accordance to local authorities regulations (DM, DCD etc.)
- Monitor the safe use of façade materials, access equipment, and lifting mechanisms during installation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in façade engineering, with at least 5 years in site supervision for large-scale building projects.
- Strong knowledge of façade systems, curtain wall design, materials (glass, aluminium, steel, stone), and installation techniques.
- Experience in reviewing and approving façade shop drawings, submittals, and mock-ups.
- Experience in Design Coordination process during project execution between different parties (Contractor, Consultant or Client)
- Familiarity with international façade standards (ASTM, BS, EN) and local authority requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and façade performance analysis tools.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
