We are seeking a skilled and reliable
Building Engineer to join the Farbman Group team. The Building Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting building systems to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for tenants and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Respond promptly to building service requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and disruptions
- Monitor building systems and equipment for efficiency and proper operation
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repairs
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment status, and inventory
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Assist in the preparation and management of maintenance budgets
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in building engineering or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in building maintenance or engineering, preferably in commercial properties
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance
- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently
- Familiarity with safety standards and building codes
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call and weekends as needed
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
