Interior Designer / Interior Architect (Residential Design )
Full-Time | Onsite | Mountain View, CA

At Harrell Design + Build, we’re looking for a talented Interior Designer / Interior Architect with strong sales acumen to guide clients from initial concept through construction completion. This is a unique hybrid role where you’ll own the full client journey—design, relationship-building, and project success.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of our Design + Sales team, you will:
- Meet, qualify, and build relationships with prospective clients
- Present and sell design agreements and construction contracts
- Lead projects from concept design → schematic design → construction documents
- Collaborate with CAD specialists and engineers to produce permit-ready plans
- Guide clients through design decisions, materials, and finishes
- Develop layouts, cabinetry plans, lighting/electrical plans, and space planning solutions
- Attend key on-site meetings (electrical walkthroughs, tile layout, etc.)
- Support projects through construction to ensure design intent is executed
- Participate in marketing events and proactively generate new client leads
Projects range from kitchens and bathrooms to full home remodels and additions
What Makes You Successful in This Role
We’re looking for someone who is both design-driven and results-oriented:
- 5+ years of proven design & sales experience (with varied project sizes and clientele)
- Strong space planning and design skills across residential interiors
Ability to confidently select:
- Plumbing fixtures
- Cabinetry
- Lighting & electrical layouts
- Finishes (tile, flooring, color palettes)
- Experience with Design + Build project delivery (highly preferred)
Proficiency in:
- Chief Architect (preferred)
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to sketch, visualize, and communicate ideas quickly
- Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal skills—comfortable working with a wide range of clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Interior Designer (CID)
- NKBA Certification (CKD or CBD)
- ASID affiliation
- Bachelor’s degree or Design Certificate
- Knowledge of Green Building and/or Universal Design

Base Salary is $85,000 to $102,000.00 yearly.
