CO-academy supports designers through one of the most uncertain stages of their careers, the space between study and practice. We believe no one should have to navigate that transition alone.
We're inviting experienced architects and interior designers to join our mentoring community and help shape a more generous, connected, and human industry.
Mentoring with CO-academy isn't about hierarchy or instruction. It's about shared experience, honest conversation, and offering perspective when it matters most.
About the role
Rather than delivering client work, your role is to support people. You'll guide participants through real project briefs, career questions, and practical challenges, sharing insight drawn from your own experience.
You'll listen, challenge, encourage, and help participants see their potential more clearly.
Mentoring is collaborative and flexible. You'll work alongside other mentors and step in where your perspective is most valuable.
What you'll do
- Facilitate open group discussions and feedback sessions
- Offer thoughtful critique on design, process, and career development
- Support participants in refining portfolios, presentations, and project documentation
- Share current industry practices, tools, and workflows
- Act as a sounding board in a supportive, non-judgemental environment
- Participate in live online sessions, guest critiques, or one-on-one check-ins as available
Sessions and rate
- Monday and Thursday evenings, 6:00–8:00pm
- $50 per hour
- Online
- Shared across a rotating group of mentors, allowing flexibility while maintaining strong collective support
Who we're looking for
- 3 years of experience in architecture or interior design
- A genuine interest in supporting emerging designers
- Comfort facilitating group conversations and giving constructive feedback
Why mentor with CO-academy
As a mentor, you'll play a direct role in:
- Giving emerging designers confidence when they're feeling uncertain or overlooked
- Demystifying how practice really works, beyond university theory
- Helping participants find their voice, values, and direction
- Contributing to a culture of openness, care, and mutual respect within the industry
You'll also be joining a community of designers who believe the industry is better when we look out for each other.
