Role Overview
The Design Manager leads the façade design function, managing the full lifecycle of shop drawings from contract interpretation through to site-approved deliverables. This role ensures technical accuracy, compliance, and timely project delivery while coordinating across internal teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Delivery
- Interpret contract documents, specifications, and drawings to define design scope
- Oversee the preparation and review of shop drawings and structural checks
- Ensure compliance with architectural, structural, and project requirements
- Manage timely submission and approval of drawings and materials
- Issue drawings and fabrication details within project timelines
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Support Project Managers with technical expertise
- Attend site and consultant meetings to resolve design issues
- Coordinate variations, custom solutions, and procurement inputs
Leadership & Performance
- Lead, mentor, and manage the design team
- Allocate resources and oversee design progress against milestones
- Maintain high standards of quality, productivity, and delivery
- Support continuous improvement and resolve technical site issues
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years’ façade design experience
- Strong 3D design/modelling skills
- Proven leadership and team management capability
- Excellent communication skills with clients, consultants, and contractors
- Strong technical knowledge of façade systems and construction methods
- Based in Dubai
