Job Description And Duties
The Division of Engineering Services (DES), Structures and Engineering Services (SES), Office of Transportation Architecture (OTA), is recruiting for a Senior Architect (Sr Arch) (Supervisor), position located in Sacramento, California.
Under the general direction of the Office Chief, the Senior Architect directs, plans, and coordinates the architectural design work of buildings and other transportation-related structures. This includes managing the efforts of staff in the design, development, and production of architectural plans and specifications; reviewing and approving architectural designs; scheduling and assigning work; providing liaison services; monitoring quality and progress of the work; acting as a consultant to the Districts and other Headquarters units regarding architectural design matters; writing reports; and reviewing and preparing correspondence. The position is responsible for providing support for project delivery, interpretation of the California Building & Fire Code provisions, and providing guidance to office staff as required on building and other transportation facilities. Included in these duties are the review and approval of conceptual designs for programmatic work; writing reports, review and prepare correspondence.

Special Requirements
The incumbent must have a valid certificate of registration as a licensed architect issued by the California Architects Board.
Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. SOQ must be typed and no more than 1- page, single-spaced, using 12-point font. Resumes do not take the place of the SOQ.
