Compensation: $31-$33/hr

- 3+ years maintenance, construction, landscaping, orhandymanexperience preferred
- Working knowledge of drywall, paint, and general repair work
- Ability to learn and grow into broader maintenance skill set
- Own basic hand and power tools
- Ability to travel regularly across Midwest portfolio
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Whatyou’llbe doing:
The RovingConstruction Laborer is part of a2-person mobile maintenance team responsible for hands-on property improvement work across a Midwest multifamily portfolio. This role supports both preventative and corrective maintenance with a strong focus on property appearance, curb appeal, and efficient execution of assigned tasks.
Technicians travel with the team between properties (including IL, WI, MI, and NE) andwill workclosely with the team lead.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Support daily field operations as part of a 2-person roaming maintenance crew
- Work in coordination with Supervisor to maximize efficiency and complete assigned scopes
- Execute hands-on maintenance and property improvement work, including:
- Drywall patching, sanding, prep, and finishing support
- Interior and exterior painting support
- Carpentry support (rot, door repairs, fencing/deck repairs, cabinet installation, trim workassistance)
- Landscaping, trimming, curb appeal projects, and seasonal cleanup
- Unit turns (cleaning, paint touch-ups, basic repairs)
- Trash-outs and unit cleanouts
- Minor plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance repairs (based on skill level)
- Flooring installation support (plank and similar materials)
- Common areaand exterior cleanup and improvement work
- Assistin completing full property work scopes efficiently, typically one site at a time
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areasat all times
- Properly useand care for personal tools and company-provided equipment
- Follow direction from Supervisor and Area Maintenance Manager
- Support identification of maintenance and life-safety issues while on-site
- Contribute to minimizing vendor usage byassistingwith in-house completion of work
Where you will work:
This position will require you to work on-site at our properties (IL, WI, MI, NE)
Travel Requirements:
Extensive travel throughout our Midwest portfolio, including up to 50% overnight travel
