About KUNZ
KUNZ is a global leader in model-based design, engineering, and construction management for complex capital programs. Established in 2015, we've spent a decade building deep expertise across some of the world's most demanding infrastructure sectors - including mission-critical facilities and hyperscale data centers for clients that include the biggest names in Big Tech.
With offices in San Francisco, California and Golden, Colorado, KUNZ supports projects and clients across the United States and internationally.
About the Role
KUNZ is seeking a VDC Coordinator with a strong focus on the "I" in BIM (Information). This is a hands-on technical role that centers on structuring, auditing, and manipulating Revit model data to support quantity takeoff, deviation analysis, cost workflows, and program-level decision making. The role is less about authoring design geometry and more about organizing and transforming model content into reliable, queryable data that can drive downstream construction and analytics workflows.
It's a role for someone who is strong in Revit, careful about data quality, and comfortable coordinating model information across teams and projects so the model functions as a reliable source of truth.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and structure Revit models using consistent product and system-based architecture.
- Build, optimize, and maintain Revit families (parametric, nested, and shared parameter families) to support reusable and configurable components.
- Dissect and audit complex models to validate data integrity, parameter consistency, completeness, and alignment with program standards.
- Apply and manage shared parameters, tagging strategies, and metadata schemas across model elements and documentation.
- Extract, manipulate, and validate model data to support quantity takeoffs (QTO), deviation analysis, cost modeling, and portfolio-level analytics.
- Develop clear visual and data-driven outputs that communicate system architecture, scope, and relationships between components.
- Coordinate model deliverables across teams using trackers, status reports, and issue logs.
- Perform QA/QC focused on information accuracy, data usability, and compliance with defined modeling standards.
- Work within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) environments to manage and coordinate model data across teams.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and project teams to ensure models function as reliable sources of truth for downstream workflows.
- Contribute to workflow development, templates, and process improvements, including opportunities for automation.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with deep understanding of how models and families are built and behave.
- Experience with family creation (parametric, nested, shared parameters).
- Experience auditing models, managing parameters, and working with schedules and structured data workflows.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and working within shared model environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and organize large, complex datasets within models.
- Ability to interpret design intent and translate it into structured, data-rich model content.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Dynamo, Python, or other automation tools.
- Familiarity with data visualization or dashboarding tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Looker Studio).
- Experience working on data centers, infrastructure, or other large-scale capital projects.
- Exposure to quantity takeoff, deviation reporting, cost modeling, or change management workflows.
- Familiarity with structured classification systems or work breakdown structures.
- Experience coordinating model deliverables across multiple teams or projects.
Benefits
Competitive compensation with employer-subsidized healthcare, vision, and dental insurance. Full-time employment includes paid time off and a 401(k) retirement program. KUNZ supports professional growth through continuing education, technical training, and leadership development opportunities, including support for career advancement through licensure and professional development. Subsidized relocation to Colorado may be available for qualified candidates.
