We are seeking an individual with 6-8 years of experience who is creative, proactive, technically adept, interested in sustainability, and believes in environmentally and socially responsible architecture. Studio St. Germain is looking for someone with strong design skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to mission-driven projects. In this role, you will be an integral part of the design process, taking meaningful ownership of projects from inception to completion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Leadership & Delivery: Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, consultants (MEP, structural, civil) from initial programming through project completion.
- Technical Design & Documentation: Lead the development of comprehensive construction document packages, technical specifications, and building systems integration.
- Code & Quality Control: Perform zoning, building code, and accessibility analysis. Conduct technical reviews of drawings to ensure strict quality control and adherence to design intent.
- Sustainability & Performance Integration: Evaluate and incorporate advanced sustainable building strategies into project and details.
- Construction Administration: Conduct site visits, review submittals and substitution requests, handle RFIs, and assist in resolving unforeseen field conditions.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, support, and mentorship to design staff and emerging professionals within the firm.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate is a positive, forward-thinking professional who thrives in a collaborative studio environment.
- Education: Professional degree in Architecture (B. Arch. or M. Arch) from an accredited program.
- Experience: 6-8 years of professional experience in architecture.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise with current versions of Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of software such as Lumion, Sefaira and SketchUp a plus.
- Sustainability Mindset: A clear interest in building science, along with knowledge of / commitment to Passive House, LEED, RESET Air, and Well Building.
- Licensure: Architectural licensure is highly preferred.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal, presentation, and collaboration skills. Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills
