As a Shift Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the exceptional standards of Nobu Hotel London Portman Square. From responding to maintenance requests and carrying out repairs to supporting health and safety compliance across the property, you will help ensure a safe, efficient and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues alike.
Working closely with the Engineering, Security, Housekeeping and Front Office teams, you will contribute to the smooth day to day operation of one of London's leading luxury lifestyle hotels.
You will
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair issues throughout the hotel
- Carry out general maintenance across electrical, plumbing, mechanical and building systems
- Monitor and report any developing maintenance or engineering issues
- Maintain accurate records within maintenance and reporting systems
- Support preventative maintenance programmes across the hotel
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Work closely with Security to support health and safety compliance across the property
- Assist with inventory management and engineering supplies where required
- Communicate effectively with operational departments regarding ongoing repairs and maintenance works
- Support and welcome new team members into the Engineering department
- Attend departmental and hotel meetings as required
- Demonstrate a proactive and solution focused approach to work
- Be available to respond to emergencies and urgent maintenance situations during your shift

What We’re Looking For
You have previous experience within a maintenance, engineering or facilities role, ideally within a hotel, hospitality or customer focused environment. Practical, organised and reliable, you take pride in solving problems efficiently and maintaining high standards throughout the property.
With strong communication skills and a hands on approach, you enjoy working collaboratively with different departments and are committed to delivering a safe, well maintained and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues alike.
