Our client is a MNC that develops, manufactures, and supplies high quality materials for the facade industry. They are currently seeking to hire a Specification and Sales Manager to be based in Melbourne. This is an exciting new role due to expanding business needs in ANZ.
Responsibilities:
Architectural Engagement & Design Influence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, façade consultants, developers, and key design decision-makers.
- Position the company as a preferred design partner for façade systems and solutions.
- Engage early in project design stages to influence material selection and system specifications.
- Deliver design presentations, CPD sessions, and technical discussions on façade aesthetics and applications.
Specification & Design Development
- Drive product specifications by aligning solutions with architectural intent, design vision, and performance requirements.
- Support architects in developing façade concepts using company systems and technologies.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of design-stage opportunities and actively map key architecture and design firms across the region.
Business Development & Market Growth
- Develop and execute a regional growth strategy focused on the architectural and design ecosystem.
- Identify and track high-value projects from concept design through to tender stages.
- Strengthen brand presence within the façade design and specification community.
Distributor Management & Sales Conversion
- Manage and collaborate with 3–4 distributor partners across the Pacific region.
- Ensure alignment between early-stage specifications and downstream sales execution.
- Support distributors with project insights, customer engagement, and strategic account guidance.
- Drive conversion of specifications into successful project sales.
Requirements:
- Background in architecture, engineering, façade, or related technical/design discipline preferred.
- Proven experience in specification sales, architectural engagement, or design-led business development.
- Strong understanding of façade systems, building envelopes, or construction materials is an advantage.
- Ability to influence architects, consultants, and developers at early project stages.
- Experience working with distributor networks and supporting indirect sales channels.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel regionally as required.
