Freelance Architect — Project Coordination (NYC)
We're a NYC-based general contractor looking for a freelance architect to join us on a large-scale commercial exhibition build-out project.
This is a coordination-focused role — not a design position. We need someone who is sharp, communicative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
About the Role
• Freelance / Independent Contractor (1099)
• Full-time engagement for approximately 6 months
• Based in NYC — on-site presence required
• Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience
What You'll Be Doing
• Reviewing architectural and MEP drawings and flagging issues or open items
• Communicating directly with the client's architect via email on technical coordination matters
• Supporting RFI drafting and review
• Keeping our project management team informed and aligned on technical details
What We're Looking For
• 1–3 years of experience in architecture or construction coordination
• Comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills — client-facing email correspondence is a key part of this role
• NY license not required
• Bilingual English / Korean strongly preferred
This is a great opportunity for an early-career architect looking to gain hands-on experience on a high-profile commercial project in NYC.
