Role Description The Architect will be responsible for leading and contributing to architectural design projects from concept through completion, including feasibility studies, master planning, and detailed design documentation. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with clients to understand project goals, developing creative and functional design solutions, preparing drawings and 3D models, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and supporting project management activities to ensure quality, time, and budget expectations are met. The role involves overseeing environmentally sustainable and inclusive design considerations, participating in site visits, and assisting with contract administration to maintain compliance with relevant codes and regulations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Toowoomba, QLD.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Architecture and Architectural Design, including concept development, space planning, and preparation of design documentation.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including coordination of project stakeholders, scheduling, and oversight of project delivery phases.
- Candidates should possess Software Development and Integration awareness where relevant to architectural workflows, such as integrating digital tools, BIM platforms, and 3D modelling software into the design process.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in CAD/BIM and visualization tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings and presentation materials.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of building codes, accessibility standards, and environmentally sustainable design principles, with a commitment to inclusive and compliant outcomes.
- Candidates should possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (or equivalent) and eligibility for professional registration in the relevant jurisdiction are highly beneficial.
