Job Title: Data Center Technician
Work Location: Barker, NY 14012
Duration: 5-month contract with option to extend or hire
Education/Experience Required: Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
Shift Options:
Hours Option A): 8am - 8pm, This is a 4X3 day work schedule/ 12-hour shifts/ non-rotating
Hour Option B): 8pm - 8am, This is a 4X3 day work schedule/ 12-hour shifts/ non-rotating
Pay: $33.00 - $40.00/Hour - based on experience
Building engineers with high voltage, electrical engineer experience, controlling alarms for hvac systems, etc. emergency repair alarms
Experience with Generators, electrical systems
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and inspect critical electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment
• Perform routine facility walkthroughs and equipment inspections
• Monitor BMS/SCADA systems and respond to alarms/escalations
• Record meter readings and maintain operational logs
• Support preventive maintenance activities and site operations
• Monitor chillers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and liquid cooling systems
• Inspect UPS systems, PDUs, switchgear, generators, transfer switches, and battery systems
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors while ensuring compliance with safety procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records
Required Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of experience in a Data Center, Critical Facility, Industrial, or similar environment
• Basic knowledge of BMS, SCADA, or building monitoring systems
• Experience with critical electrical/mechanical infrastructure
• Ability to work under pressure in mission-critical environments
• Strong communication and issue escalation skills
• Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
• Data Center or Critical Environment experience
• BMS experience
• HVAC or Electrical certification/license
• Strong safety awareness and customer service skills
