About the Role
Nidhi Land Infrastructure Developers India (P) Ltd. is looking for an experienced Site Engineer to supervise and manage the day-to-day execution of its building construction projects in Mangalore.
The candidate must have strong practical experience in residential or commercial building construction and should be familiar with local construction practices, materials, labour management and execution techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day construction activities at the project site.
- Execute work according to approved architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Ensure that construction activities are completed according to approved specifications, quality standards and project schedules.
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly site activities.
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, labour teams and internal departments.
- Check line, level, dimensions, reinforcement, shuttering and other construction details before and during execution.
- Supervise civil works including excavation, foundations, RCC works, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring and finishing works.
- Inspect reinforcement, formwork and embedded items before concrete pours.
- Monitor concreting activities and ensure proper placement, compaction, curing and quality control.
- Ensure that the latest approved drawings are available and followed at the site.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and report them promptly.
- Monitor labour productivity, material consumption and construction progress.
- Raise timely requirements for construction materials, equipment and manpower.
- Control material wastage and ensure proper storage and handling of materials.
- Maintain daily progress reports, labour records, material records and other site documentation.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals with consultants and the project management team.
- Verify measurements and quantities of work completed by subcontractors.
- Assist in checking subcontractor bills and work completion quantities.
- Ensure that all work is carried out safely and that workers follow site safety requirements.
- Identify delays, quality concerns and site-related issues and take timely corrective action.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and organisation at the construction site.
- Support the project team in achieving construction milestones and timely project completion.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering; or
- Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building construction.
- Experience in residential apartments, high-rise buildings or commercial building projects is preferred.
- Candidates with experience limited only to roads, highways, infrastructure or non-building projects may not be suitable for this position.
Required Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of building construction methods and execution procedures.
- Good understanding of local construction practices and techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of RCC, reinforcement, shuttering, masonry, waterproofing, finishing and related building works.
- Understanding of construction materials, workmanship standards and quality-control procedures.
- Knowledge of construction sequencing and site planning.
- Familiarity with quantity measurements, subcontractor work verification and site documentation.
- Awareness of construction safety practices.
- Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office is preferred.
