Our client is a Melbourne based design practice specialising in architecture, interior design and urban design focusing on sectors including residential, commercial, rail and infrastructure across Australia.
There is a current need for a Project Architect who will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of projects, working effectively as a member of a team of architects throughout each phase of a building's design and construction. While the specific projects that an individual works on can vary, the position will generally have several primary job duties. These include:
- project coordination, and services delivery to our clients
- assessing client needs, managing and delivering to the brief
- identifying potential risks,
- creating architectural documentation
- supervising other architects and
- overseeing external consultants inputs
- overseeing the construction process.
You will also be required to build and manage important client and stakeholder relationships and alert the Principal - Project Director/Lead in the first instance to any issues and matters that need to be addressed. They will also be required to contribute to the overall development of procedural best practice and quality assurance, and help to foster the development of the younger architects and team members.

Assessing client needs

Creating architectural documentation: drawings / schedules & specifications

Overseeing the construction process
- Onsite supervision of the building / construction phase
- Overseeing delivery of project contractors and consultants
- Resolving problems and issues that arise
- Attendance and management of Construction Administration phase responsibilities and tasks
Skills & Capabilities
- Technical Expertise across all facets of Architecture
- Strong Organisation and planning abilities to manage the project delivery process from pre-design, concept/schematic design, to Design Development, Construction Documentation, Tendering and through to Contract Administration
- Capable hand sketching skills to convey ideas and workout detailing
- Strong CAD, REVIT skills
- Strong Project Management to lead internal and external teams
- Effective planning and prioritizing
