About the Role:
We’re partnering with a well-established, privately owned real estate developer with a substantial pipeline of multifamily and mixed-use projects across Southern California. This is an opportunity to step away from traditional architectural practice and join the client side, where you’ll play a key role in shaping projects from their earliest stages.
Working closely with ownership and senior leadership, you’ll lead schematic and concept design, helping define the vision, layouts and planning strategy before collaborating with external architects through the delivery phase. It’s a highly visible role that offers genuine influence over projects, exposure to the commercial side of development, and the opportunity to broaden your experience beyond design alone.
You’ll work across a diverse portfolio including multifamily residential, adaptive reuse, mixed-use and affordable housing projects, with the stability of a long-term development pipeline and clear opportunities for career growth as the business continues to expand. This is a full time in office role for someone looking to move client-side and play a meaningful role in shaping projects from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead schematic and concept design for multifamily residential developments from feasibility through entitlement
- Work closely with ownership to develop unit mixes, floor plans, building layouts and elevations
- Coordinate with external architects and consultants, ensuring a smooth transition into later design phases
- Prepare smaller in-house permit packages, including demolition and minor architectural submissions where required
- Contribute to planning studies, zoning analysis and early project feasibility
Key Skills / Requirements:
- 4-8 years’ professional architectural experience
- Strong experience delivering multifamily residential projects in California
- Working knowledge of City of Los Angeles planning, zoning and entitlement processes is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Revit and experience producing architectural documentation
- Collaborative, proactive and commercially minded, with a willingness to learn and thrive in a client-side development environment
