Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Facade Engineer to join our design consultancy team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in facade engineering and design, with proven expertise in BIM workflows, facade detailing, coordination, and multidisciplinary design. The role will involve working on complex residential, commercial, hospitality, and high-rise projects through various stages of design.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver facade engineering and design solutions from concept through detailed design and construction documentation.
- Develop and review facade systems, assemblies, details, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Develop and coordinate facade BIM models using Revit and other relevant BIM tools.
- Coordinate facade designs with architectural, structural, MEP, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Review facade shop drawings, technical submissions, material specifications, and design proposals.
- Perform design reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and performance criteria.
- Coordinate with facade contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and specialist consultants.
- Identify and resolve design clashes, constructability issues, and technical discrepancies.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and BIM team members.
- Ensure timely delivery of facade design packages in accordance with project schedules and quality standards.
- Support the development and implementation of BIM standards, workflows, families, and modelling protocols for facade design.
- Review BIM models for accuracy, quality, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Facade Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in facade engineering/design, preferably within a design consultancy environment.
- Strong experience in facade design and engineering for high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments.
- Proven experience working across concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, and construction documentation stages.
- Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant design/BIM software.
- Experience in multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection.
- Strong understanding of facade systems including curtain walls, unitized systems, cladding, glazing, louvers, and associated interfaces.
- Good knowledge of relevant international facade standards, building codes, materials, and performance requirements.
- Strong technical, analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience with a design consultant/architectural consultancy is highly preferred.
