Senior Building Envelope Consultant | New York City

A highly respected national engineering and consulting firm is looking to add a Senior Building Envelope Consultant to its growing New York team. This is an opportunity to join a technically driven organization known for its expertise in building enclosure systems, forensic investigations, restoration, waterproofing, and façade consulting.
In this role, you'll lead and manage a variety of projects involving existing buildings, new construction, building envelope assessments, condition surveys, repair design, and construction administration. You'll work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and industry professionals while helping mentor and develop junior staff.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading building envelope investigations and condition assessments
- Diagnosing and resolving water intrusion and building performance issues
- Designing repairs for façades, roofing, waterproofing, windows, curtain walls, and exterior enclosure systems
- Performing site inspections, field testing, and documentation of existing conditions
- Providing technical consultation throughout design and construction phases
- Managing client relationships and multiple concurrent projects
- Supporting expert witness and litigation-related assignments when required
- Mentoring junior engineers and consultants
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of building envelope, restoration, façade, roofing, waterproofing, or related experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license required
- Strong technical knowledge of building enclosure systems
- Experience conducting field investigations and developing repair solutions
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with curtain walls, historic preservation, rope access, or forensic consulting is a plus
