About The Role
CBRE’s PropertyManagement group is seeking a Senior Building Engineer to join a collaborativeteam focused on supporting an office property.
What You'll Do
- Complieswith all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Companydirectives related to building operations and work safety.
- Operates,maintains, monitors, and performs preventive, predictive, and correctivemaintenance on building equipment, which may include: mechanical/HVAC/plumbingsystems, electrical/cabling, fire detection and suppression, life safety,lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digitalsystems.
- Maintainsthe professional appearances of the property, equipment, engineering spaces,and common areas.
- Maintainsthe building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs orreplacements.
- Preparesestimates detailing the amount of time and materials needed for completingtasks. Maintains adequate supplies and tools and orders necessary materials tocomplete all tasks.
- Maintainsan energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate allsystems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
- Overseesand inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work mayinclude landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, and cleaning.
- Performswork in compliance with standard operating procedures and/or critical workpackages, and maintenance work instructions.
- Performsspecialized and complex tasks such as carpentry, electrical, painting, roofing,HVAC, welding, furniture assembly/relocation and locksmith tasks. Performsinspection of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing andelectrical.
- UsesPC and/or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training. Responds toemergency situations and customer concerns.
- Providesinformal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers.Coordinates and assigns tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.
What You'llNeed

- High school diploma or general education degree(GED) and eight or more years experience in electrical systems, refrigerationand/or HVAC. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Universal CFC certification required. Additionalcertification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC andrefrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions,painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as maybe required by local or state jurisdictions.
- Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analyticalskills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service tocustomers. Ability to effectively present information.
- Requiresknowledge of financial terms and principles and to understand operatingbudgets. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages,discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpretdocuments. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
- Uses personal computer and / or PDA for workorder system, email, ESS and training. Basic skills with Microsoft OfficeOutlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbingstairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Decisions made with thorough knowledge ofprocedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may causeshort-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
- Responsible for personal safety and the safetyof those who are affected by your work. This includes but is not limited to:
- Complete all required and assigned HSE training at a satisfactory level,
- Follow all activity policies and procedures, including all HSE-relatedrequirements at all times,
- Participate in all HSE-related programs & activities as required,including incident investigations, interviews, auditing and assessment, etc.
- Report any conditions which you feel could result in an accident or injuryand / or stop work if required.
