The Building Maintenance Engineer supports the daily operations of Class A commercial office buildings. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance, repair, and monitoring of building systems to ensure tenant comfort, safety, and operational efficiency. The building maintenance engineer will work closely with property management and senior engineering staff to deliver reliable service, uphold high standards of building performance, and contribute to a positive tenant experience. A background in Class A office building maintenance is required.
Job Duties
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, and pumps to ensure efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot and adjust building automation systems (DDC/pneumatic controls) for optimal performance and tenant comfort.
• Support daily operations by responding promptly to service requests and maintaining accurate logs of inspections and repairs.
Qualifications
• Hands-on experience in commercial office buildings, with working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications (EPA Universal, HVAC, electrical) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform repairs such as replacing motors, bearings, valves, and electrical components safely and effectively.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with tenants and property management teams.
