Position Summary
We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Project Engineer to oversee and coordinate the construction of a high-end private villa in Ghana. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in luxury residential construction, multidisciplinary contractor coordination, MEP systems, finishing works, and site management.
This role requires someone who can ensure all contractors work efficiently, timelines are maintained, quality standards are met, and the site remains organized and professionally managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Construction Coordination & Site Management
* Supervise daily site operations and coordinate all contractors and subcontractors.
* Ensure smooth interface between civil works, MEP works, architectural finishes, landscaping, and pool works.
* Maintain site discipline, cleanliness, safety, and material organization.
* Monitor manpower productivity and contractor attendance.
* Resolve technical clashes between trades before delays occur.
2. Contractor Coordination
Coordinate and manage the following contractors:
* Civil / Structural Contractor
* Mechanical Engineering / Electrical / Plumbing Contractors
* HVAC Contractor
* Electrical Contractor
* Smart Home / Automation Contractor (KNX & DALI Systems)
* Marble / Stone Contractor
* Aluminium / Glazing Contractor
* Façade Contractor
* Joinery / Fit-Out Contractor
* Swimming Pool Specialist
* Landscaping Contractor
3. MEP & Smart Systems Oversight
* Review and coordinate HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, fire alarm, ELV, and lighting systems.
* Ensure proper integration of smart systems using KNX and DALI.
* Coordinate automation contractor with electricians, ceiling teams, lighting installers, and interior designers.
* Attend testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
4. Planning & Progress Control
* Prepare and monitor construction schedules.
* Track milestones and contractor deadlines.
* Issue weekly progress reports to client.
* Highlight delays early and recommend recovery plans.
* Ensure procurement schedules match construction timelines.
5. Quality Control
* Inspect workmanship and materials.
* Ensure execution matches approved drawings and specifications.
* Coordinate mock-ups and sample approvals.
* Ensure luxury finishing standards are achieved.
6. Documentation & Reporting
* Maintain updated drawings, RFIs, site instructions, snag lists, and progress records.
* Record variation requests and contractor claims.
* Prepare weekly photo reports and progress summaries.
Candidate Requirements
Education
* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
Experience
* Minimum 7–10 years experience in construction/project engineering.
* Proven experience on luxury villas, hotels, embassies, or premium residential projects.
* Strong knowledge of MEP coordination.
* Experience with smart home systems preferred.
