Role Description This full-time, on-site Junior Architect role is based at the PRAJC studio in Kottayam. The Junior Architect will support the architectural team in developing design concepts, preparing drawings, and creating detailed design documentation for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. Daily tasks include assisting in conceptual and schematic design, producing CAD and 3D models, preparing presentations, and collaborating on material selection and interior layouts. The role involves coordinating with senior architects, consultants, and vendors, participating in site visits and measurements, and helping track project progress and timelines. The Junior Architect will contribute creative ideas while maintaining design consistency, ensuring that each project aligns with PRAJC’s focus on human-centered, narrative-driven spaces.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to translate concepts into clear drawings and models.
- Familiarity with Software Development and Integration concepts as they relate to design tools and digital workflows (e.g., plug-ins, design automation, or BIM integrations).
- Basic understanding of Project Management principles, including time management, task coordination, and documentation.
- Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar design tools; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
- Strong visual, spatial, and design communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly in drawings and presentations.
- Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary studio environment.
- Experience with model making, material research, and on-site coordination is a plus; knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Kerala is beneficial.
