Role Description The Facade Engineer will work on-sites in UAE in a full-time capacity, collaborating closely with design, fabrication, and site teams to deliver high-quality building envelope solutions. Daily responsibilities include developing facade designs, reviewing drawings and specifications, and ensuring that aluminium, glass, and stainless-steel systems meet structural, performance, and aesthetic requirements. The role involves coordinating with project managers, consultants, architects, and contractors to resolve technical issues, optimize facade details, and support installation activities. The Facade Engineer will perform calculations related to structural performance and building physics, prepare technical documentation, and contribute to quality assurance and compliance with relevant codes and standards. Regular site visits, inspections, and participation in progress meetings are expected to monitor installation quality and address engineering challenges.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Building Envelope and Facade systems, with the ability to integrate materials such as aluminium, glass, and stainless steel into robust and efficient designs.
- Strong skills in Facade Design, including concept development, detailed design, and coordination of drawings and technical specifications.
- Solid grounding in Structural Engineering principles relevant to facade and curtain wall systems, including load calculations and structural safety assessments.
- Applied knowledge of Building Physics, such as thermal performance, air and water tightness, acoustics, and energy efficiency considerations in facade design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; advanced qualifications or facade-specific certifications are an advantage.
- Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, structural analysis tools) and familiarity with regional and international building codes.
- Experience working with facade contractors or consulting firms, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders on-site.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety, quality, and timely project delivery.
