Description
As a
Façade Specialist at
Foster + Partners, you will play a vital role within the Technical Design Group, supporting architects across multiple studios to deliver technically robust, innovative and integrated façade solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with design teams, review complex façade packages, provide specialist technical guidance and help drive the development of high-performance cladding systems for global projects.
This role is ideal if you want to:
- Work directly with project teams to understand façade challenges and offer expert technical support.
- Participate in workshops and meetings with internal teams, consultants and contractors.
- Review façade drawings, specifications and reports, providing clear, actionable recommendations.
- Develop cladding strategies, façade concepts and interface details for whole-building solutions.
- Support site visits, mock-up inspections and the preparation of detailed technical reports.
What you will bring to the team:
- Experience delivering façade design as an architect or façade engineer, with strong knowledge of façade systems, materials, construction methods and technical inspections.
- Ability to assess risk, diagnose façade issues and propose effective technical solutions, including fire risk and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with relevant design tools such as Revit, Rhino, CATIA or similar.
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience working with façade consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Familiarity with geometric analysis and graphic tools such as Grasshopper, Excel, Photoshop or InDesign.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, resilience under pressure and the ability to handle confidential information.
