Role Descr</strong>iption The Facade Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt. The Facade Engineer will be responsible for designing and detailing façade systems, with a focus on aluminum and related building envelope components. Day-to-day tasks include conducting structural and building physics assessments, preparing technical drawings and specifications, coordinating with architects, contractors, and suppliers, and ensuring that façade designs meet safety, performance, and aesthetic requirements. The role also involves reviewing shop drawings, supporting fabrication and installation teams, performing site inspections, and helping resolve technical issues during project execution. The Facade Engineer will contribute to optimizing design solutions that balance durability, energy performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of façade design and façade systems, with practical experience in building envelope solutions.Experience applying structural engineering principles to façade elements and support systems.Understanding of building physics, including thermal performance, air and water tightness, and acoustics in façade design.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field; advanced studies in façade engineering are a plus.Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, façade analysis tools) and ability to read technical drawings.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and compliance with applicable codes and standards.Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project stakeholders on-site.Previous experience in aluminum façade fabrication, installation, or curtain wall systems is highly beneficial.
