Job Title: Resident Engineer
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Minimum of 15 years (overall) and relevant experience in handling villa or building projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and practices
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Key Responsibilities
- Manage deployment of resources to create project team capable of effectively completing the project with best quality standards. Monitor cost aspects of the supervision contract, forecast final costs, identify trends and take action to avoid cost overruns
- Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project
- Oversee establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required
- Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes
- Review all shop/working/as-built drawings, design proposals, method statements, material submissions, any requests for information relating to the works with in the contract. Ensure accuracy, completeness of records and compliance to project KPI for document turnaround
- Coordinate with Client/Project Manager, the Contractor and concerned Authorities. Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in meetings in support of clients
- Work with the key project individuals to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advice the client and company management of any such changes
- Establish the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria
- Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established
- Ensure prompt response to Contractor and Client correspondence
- Monitor the closure of all identified risks and opportunities. Visibly support risk identification and mitigation throughout the project
