Role Description The Resident Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for overseeing day-to-day engineering activities on the project site. This position monitors construction and installation work to ensure compliance with approved designs, technical standards, and local regulations. The Resident Engineer coordinates with contractors, consultants, and client representatives, reviews drawings and technical documentation, and provides timely guidance on engineering issues. The role includes conducting site inspections, preparing progress and quality reports, identifying and resolving technical conflicts, and supporting project managers in maintaining schedule, budget, and safety objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, with the ability to interpret and review engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience in site supervision, construction monitoring, and quality assurance within consultancy or project management environments.
- Proficiency in using engineering and project documentation tools; familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and local Abu Dhabi regulations.
- Effective communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management abilities in fast-paced project settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; professional registration or certification is an advantage.
- Prior experience as a Resident Engineer or similar site-based engineering role, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
