Architect – Pre-Construction
We are seeking an experienced Architect to join our Pre-Construction team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-value construction projects across sectors including data centres, advanced technology, life sciences, and other mission-critical facilities.
The successful candidate will play a key role during the tender and pre-construction stages, providing architectural expertise while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, practical, and cost-effective construction solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural designs during the tender and pre-construction phases.
- Collaborate with design teams to develop and refine project solutions.
- Assess opportunities for alternative construction methods and value engineering.
- Review construction methodologies, programme implications, and temporary works requirements.
- Prepare and develop subcontract packages in collaboration with the supply chain.
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals, including technical and commercial comparisons.
- Assist in developing lifting strategies, crane plans, and site logistics.
- Identify temporary works required to safely construct and manage projects.
- Identify project risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Support the wider pre-construction team in delivering competitive, high-quality tender submissions.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Architecture (M.Arch) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong understanding of architectural design, construction detailing, and building systems.
- Good knowledge of civil and structural aspects of construction projects.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience
- 5+ years' experience as an Architect within the construction or design industry.
- Previous site or contractor experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, industrial, data centre, or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
