Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Bid Engineer located in Dubai. The Bid Engineer will be reporting to the Business Development Manager, and be responsible for the preparation and submission of bids for various projects. Daily tasks include analyzing project requirements, preparing technical proposals, coordinating with internal departments such as estimation, technical, planning, HSE, QAQC, Plant, Logistics, Finance and with external subcontractor and supplier specialists. The Bid Engineer will be evaluating project risks, and ensuring compliance with client specifications and deadlines. The Bid Engineer will also liaise with clients and stakeholders to address inquiries and provide clarifications on bids.
In the case of design and build projects the bid Engineer will be following the Design team closely, be accountable for the design progress, ensuring that the design development is made in accordance with the project specification and client requirements. The Bid Engineer shall lead the design meetings with the architect designers and the engineering teams, prepare the meeting minutes with action plan, and ensure proper coordination or the works. The Bid Engineer will also draft and negotiate agreements with JV partners, with Consultants, with the support of the Business Development Manager.
Qualifications
· Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, ability to present in front of management and clients.
· Attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
· Open mindedness, flexibility, willingness to learn and work in a fast evolving company, ready to switch priorities often and to multitask.
· Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Cooperative and can do attitude, active listening and critical thinking skills are expected
· Ability to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
· Prior experience in bid engineering or a similar role in the construction or engineering industry
· Strong expertise in preparing detailed technical proposals, understanding project construction methods, cranage, logistics, sequencing and programme.
· Strong Engineering skills: ability to review and understand the main design packages: Architecture, Structure, MEP, ID, Landscaping, and to highlight the project particularities and risks.
· Proficiency in evaluating project requirements, risks, and client specifications
· Ability to read and understand construction contracts, to review NDAs and other legal documents.
· Familiarity with construction regulations and standards in the UAE is a strong advantage
· Proficiency in relevant software tools for bid preparation, project estimation, and documentation
· Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is mandatory. Use of Revit, Sketch up or other 3D design software is a appreciated plus
· Power point proficiency is mandatory; other software knowledge such as InDesign for professional presentation is a plus. Use of AI tools is highly encouraged
