Modern Nest Homes is the interior design private client division within the Modern Nest brand, dedicated to crafting elevated private client residences and luxury spec homes. Our studio has an immediate need for an experienced, full time Senior Interior Designer with a strong architectural background to join our close-knit, collaborative team. Reporting to the Design Director, this role serves as a key creative and project management leader across all phases of large-scale, high-end residential projects, including both renovations and new builds.
We are seeking a designer with at least five years of professional experience, a strong architectural background, and a refined point of view that complements the Modern Nest aesthetic—someone who can seamlessly step in and lead multiple projects with confidence. While local candidates are preferred, we are also open to hybrid, remote, and freelance arrangements for the right candidate. We have several large-scale high-end residential projects in need of an immediate Senior Interior Designer leadership. The projects are exciting with wonderful clients.
Who You Are
You are passionate about thoughtful design, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks and timelines across large-scale residential projects. You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively with clients and vendors, and bring a positive, solutions-oriented approach to the studio. As a senior team member, you work closely with leadership and take an active role in mentoring junior designers. You possess a strong architectural foundation, technical expertise, and a refined design sensibility. You are motivated to grow within a supportive, collaborative environment and are committed to building long-term impact within the studio.

- Collaborate closely with architects and builders to ensure design intent is carried through all technical phases of the project
- Source and specify furniture, materials, finishes, plumbing, lighting, and hardware with a strong understanding of performance and application
- Contribute to the development and management of project budgets, schedules, and procurement processes
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to support seamless project execution
- Participate in site visits, oversee installations, and support final styling to ensure a fully realized design outcome
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, consultants, and internal team members
- Mentor and guide junior designers, providing oversight, feedback, and support in their professional development
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative studio culture with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
