Job Specification – Façade Lead
Position Overview
The Façade Lead is responsible for overseeing all façade‑related activities on site, ensuring productivity, safety, quality, and coordination across multiple trades. This role requires strong planning, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with a proactive approach to design issues, materials management, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Productivity Management
- Maintain consistent productivity levels across all façade‑related trades.
- Monitor daily progress and ensure teams are working efficiently and in line with programme expectations.
Daily Planning & Coordination
- Lead daily planning, programming, reporting, and review sessions with brickwork foremen.
- Coordinate closely with the Senior Coordinating Engineer to identify and resolve design issues ahead of time.
- Collaborate with the Design Team to agree on solutions and ensure alignment across disciplines.
Reporting & Communication
- Provide daily updates and progress reports to the Site Manager (SM) and Project Manager (PM).
- Communicate clearly with suppliers, trades, and internal teams to maintain smooth workflow.
Materials Management
- Ensure all façade materials are ordered, delivered, and available ahead of programme requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers to maintain adequate on‑site stock levels.
- Track material usage and anticipate future needs to avoid delays.
Safety Leadership
- Conduct regular safety inspections within assigned areas.
- Promote and uphold a strong safety culture across all façade activities.
- Work closely with the SM, PM, and Safety Team to maintain high safety standards at all times.
Quality Assurance
- Establish and agree benchmark standards for all façade details.
- Communicate benchmark expectations clearly to all trades.
- Ensure snagging is documented, tracked, and completed progressively as works advance.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the façade package.
