You’ll be joining a well-established specialist fitout contractor delivering high-quality commercial office, retail, and refurbishment projects across Dublin and the surrounding areas.
The Building Services team plays a key role in delivering fast-paced, technically demanding fitout projects, typically within live or occupied buildings. Projects include CAT A and CAT B office fitouts, retail refurbishments, and complex MEP upgrades within tight programme constraints.
With a strong pipeline of commercial fitout works, the team is looking to appoint a Building Services Engineer to support the coordination, delivery, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical services on site.
Your New Role
As a Building Services Engineer, you will support the delivery of mechanical and electrical services on commercial fitout and refurbishment projects.
You will work closely with site management, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure building services installations are coordinated, installed correctly, and delivered in line with programme, quality standards, and client expectations.
This role is ideal for someone with strong site-based building services experience who is confident working in fast-moving environments where coordination, problem-solving, and attention to detail are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of mechanical and electrical building services on commercial fitout and refurbishment projects
- Coordinate subcontractors during installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Assist with coordination of services within tight ceiling voids, risers, and congested fitout environments
- Review drawings, builder’s work requirements, and technical submittals to ensure installation compliance
- Work closely with site managers and project engineers to track progress and resolve on-site coordination issues
- Support commissioning activities, inspections, and snagging to ensure systems are fully operational and handed over correctly
- Liaise with consultants, client representatives, and design teams where required
- Assist in ensuring all works are delivered safely in live or occupied building environments
- Maintain strong focus on quality control, programme delivery, and coordination between trades
What You’ll Need
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline
- 2–6 years’ experience in building services delivery (contractor or site-based role preferred)
- Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical services coordination, and general building services systems
- Experience working on fitout, refurbishment, or live environment projects is highly desirable
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documentation
- Good coordination and communication skills when working with multiple subcontractors
- Strong awareness of health & safety procedures in construction environments
- Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving on site
